CVP Windows & Doors was proud to help make a ground-breaking dream come true for a Williamsburg, Virginia family by partnering with Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg in building the first ever 3D-printed Habitat for Humanity home in the country.The three-bedroom, two-bath 3D-printed home, outfitted with entry doors and windows donated by CVP, is a 1,200 square foot slice of technological history right here in Coastal Virginia. For this first-of-its-kind home, a custom-manufactured window solution was needed. That’s where CVP stepped up to design and donate 13 DHA4 Double-Hung vinyl windows. CVP also donated two fiberglass entry doors for the 3D-printed home.

All of the windows donated by CVP meet Energy Star® and DP50 standards, making CVP the provider of choice for this unique 3D Habitat Home build. With energy efficiency in mind, CVP’s windows provide an additional boost to the energy saving qualities of this 3D printed concrete home. With the addition of a Low-E 366 glass upgrade, CVP windows easily met the team’s EarthCraft smart-building standards to reduce utility bills.The exterior of the 3D printed home was built in just 28 hours using an Alquist 3D printer, with the primary building material being concrete, rather than lumber.CVP was honored to participate in this innovative home build designed by Alquist and the Virginia Center for Housing Research at Virginia Tech. The home comes equipped with Virginia Tech’s Raspberry-Pi based monitoring system which allows the homeowner to monitor indoor environment, security, and energy consumption.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are continuing our business operations while taking steps to protect your health:

  • Our facility/showroom is closed to walk-in guests.
  • All customers with sales or installation appointments will be given an opportunity to reschedule.
  • Scheduling changes and delays will be communicated as promptly as possible.
  • Staff will be monitored daily for fever.
  • Sales and installation staff will practice social distancing and hand hygiene.
  • Installers will restrict contact with all areas of the building except as necessary to accomplish the work.
